in your calendar

A full year of Shia Ithna Asheri prayer times, ready to drop into Google Calendar, Outlook, or Apple Calendar.

Source: Jaffari Community Centre, Toronto

01

Five daily prayers

Fajr, Zuhr, and Maghrib, with Imsaak, Sunrise, and Sunset markers. Every event timed and labelled.

02

365 days, one file

A full perpetual year of timings in a single download. 2,190 events across the year.

03

Three Ontario cities

Toronto, Windsor, or Ottawa, adjusted from the Jaffari timetable per the official correction tables.

04

Universal format

Standard .ics. Works in Google Calendar, Outlook, Apple Calendar, Proton, Fastmail, and more.

Step 1

Download your calendar

Choose your city. Toronto is the source data; Windsor and Ottawa apply the adjustments published by the Jaffari Community Centre.

Date-aware uses the per-event correction tables in the Jaffari PDF, with different offsets for sunrise / sunset / midday, varying through the year.

Recommended for Google Calendar

Full Year by quarter

Google Calendar caps imports at 1 MB and silently fails on the full-year file. Download each quarter, then import them into the same calendar.

Apple Calendar, Outlook, or another app? Download the full year as one fileiEach quarter is ~220 KB. The full-year file is ~880 KB, right at Google Calendar’s 1 MB import limit. Google may show “Imported 0 of 0 events,” but events often appear after a brief delay. For Google, the quarterly files are more reliable..

Essentials by quarter

Just the three obligatory prayers: Fajr, Zuhr, Maghrib. Small enough to import as a single file in any app.

Not for calendar import. To add prayer times to Google, Apple, or Outlook calendars, use the .ics files above.

Step 2

Import into your calendar

Pick your app below. The .ics file works the same way everywhere. These are the official import flows.

Important: Google Calendar's import only accepts files under 1 MB. The full-year file is right at that ceiling, so download the four quarterly files above and import them one at a time, not the single full-year file.

  1. In the Full Year card above, pick Q1 · Jan–Mar from the Quarter dropdown and click Download .ics. Repeat for Q2, Q3, and Q4.
  2. Open Google Calendar on a desktop browser.
  3. (Optional but recommended) Create a new calendar called “Salaat” so prayer times stay separate from your main schedule. Settings → Add calendar → Create new calendar.
  4. In the left sidebar, click the + next to “Other calendars” and choose Import.
  5. Click Select file from your computer, pick the Q1 file, choose your Salaat calendar, then click Import. If you see “Imported 0 of 0 events,” check your calendar anyway. Events often appear after a brief delay.
  6. Repeat for Q2, Q3, and Q4. All 2,190 events will land in the same calendar.

Tip: if any quarter still fails, try it in a fresh tab or after refreshing Google Calendar. Most failures are caused by the page state, not the file.

  1. Download the Full Calendar .ics file using the button above.
  2. Open Outlook on the web or the desktop app.
  3. In the left sidebar, click Add calendarUpload from file.
  4. Browse to the .ics file and select the calendar you want to add it to.
  5. Click Import.

In the desktop Outlook app: File → Open & Export → Import/Export → Import an iCalendar (.ics), then choose Import (not Open as new) so events merge into your selected calendar.

  1. Download the Full Calendar .ics file on your Mac, iPhone, or iPad.
  2. On Mac: open Calendar → File → Import… → pick the .ics file → choose a calendar.
  3. On iPhone/iPad: tap the downloaded .ics file. iOS asks which calendar to add the events to.
  4. Confirm Add All.

Events sync to iCloud and appear on every device signed into your Apple ID.

  • Proton Calendar: Settings → Calendars → Import → upload the .ics file.
  • Fastmail: Calendar → ⋯ menu → Import → choose the .ics file.
  • Thunderbird: Calendar → right-click a calendar → Import → select the .ics file.
  • Yahoo Calendar: Settings (gear) → More Settings → Calendars → Import.
  • Any CalDAV app: most calendar apps accept standard .ics files via an Import or Subscribe option.

About

Built for the Ontario community

This calendar makes the perpetual prayer timetable from the Jaffari Community Centre easy to live with: every prayer in your phone, on your laptop, in your inbox.

Times are based on the Shia Ithna Asheri school. Toronto is the source; Windsor and Ottawa apply the corrections published in the Jaffari correction PDF. Events are stored in the America/Toronto timezone so daylight saving transitions are handled automatically.

Date-aware (default) uses four reference points from the PDF and interpolates per event. Simple uses the flat headline rule (+14 / −15 min). For full detail, see the original Jaffari correction PDF.

Not affiliated with the Jaffari Community Centre. Please verify times against their official postings before relying on them for fasting or worship.
