Source: Jaffari Community Centre

01

Five daily prayers

Fajr, Zuhr, and Maghrib, with Imsaak, Sunrise, and Sunset markers. Every event timed and labelled.

02

365 days, one file

A full perpetual year of timings in a single download. 2,190 events across the year.

03

Your city, your timezone

Choose your city. Times are sourced from local Shia centres and shown in that city's local time, with daylight saving handled automatically.

04

Universal format

Standard .ics. Works in Google Calendar, Outlook, Apple Calendar, Proton, Fastmail, and more.

Step 1

Download your calendar

Choose your city. Each city is sourced from a local Shia centre's published timetable, or computed from a primary source using community correction tables.

Date-aware uses the per-event correction tables in the Jaffari PDF, with different offsets for sunrise / sunset / midday, varying through the year.

Recommended for Google Calendar

Full Year by quarter

Google Calendar caps imports at 1 MB and silently fails on the full-year file. Download each quarter, then import them into the same calendar.

Apple Calendar, Outlook, or another app? Download the full year as one fileiEach quarter is ~220 KB. The full-year file is ~880 KB, right at Google Calendar’s 1 MB import limit. Google may show “Imported 0 of 0 events,” but events often appear after a brief delay. For Google, the quarterly files are more reliable..

Essentials by quarter

Just the three obligatory prayers: Fajr, Zuhr, Maghrib. Small enough to import as a single file in any app.

Not for calendar import. To add prayer times to Google, Apple, or Outlook calendars, use the .ics files above.

Step 2

Import into your calendar

Pick your app. Same .ics file, slightly different flow.

  1. Download all 4 quarterly files above (Q1 through Q4).
  2. In Google Calendar, click + next to Other calendars, then Import.
  3. Upload each quarter, one at a time, into the same calendar.

Use quarters, not the full-year file. Google's 1 MB import limit makes the full file unreliable. Tip: create a separate Salaat calendar first to keep prayer times tidy.

  1. Download the full-year .ics file.
  2. In Outlook: Add calendar, then Upload from file.
  3. Pick the file, choose a calendar, click Import.

Desktop app: File, Open & Export, Import/Export, iCalendar (.ics), then choose Import (not Open as new).

  1. Mac: Calendar, File, Import, pick the .ics file.
  2. iPhone or iPad: tap the downloaded file, choose a calendar, then Add All.

Syncs to iCloud across all your Apple devices.

  • Proton: Settings, Calendars, Import.
  • Fastmail: Calendar menu, Import.
  • Thunderbird: right-click a calendar, Import.
  • Yahoo: Settings, More Settings, Calendars, Import.
  • Any CalDAV app: standard .ics works via Import or Subscribe.

About

Built for the Shia Ithna Asheri community

Shia Salaat brings perpetual prayer timetables from local Shia centres into your calendar: every prayer in your phone, on your laptop, in your inbox.

Each city draws from a published source. Toronto comes from the Jaffari Community Centre, Vancouver from Az-Zahraa Islamic Centre, Orlando from the Husseini Islamic Center, Atlanta from the Jaffari Center of Atlanta, Stanmore from KSIMC of London (Hujjat), Birmingham from KSI Jamaat Birmingham, Manchester from Majlis-e-Ulama-e-Shia (MUS) Europe, Leicester from MKSI Leicester, Peterborough from Husaini Islamic Centre, Bradford from Hussiania Islamic Mission, Saskatoon from the Hussaini Association, and Montreal from the Shiane Haidery Islamic Association. Cities like Windsor and Ottawa are computed from Toronto using the Jaffari correction tables.

Events are stored in each city's local timezone, so daylight saving transitions are handled automatically. When you view a city different from where you are, times are shown in that city's local clock.

Not affiliated with any of the source centres. Please verify times against their official postings before relying on them for fasting or worship.
